Street Name: Turinabol, Turis, OT
Developed in the 60’s in East Germany (GDR) prior to the fall of the wall between West and East Germany, Oral-Turinabol was the be-all/ end-all steroid of choice for competitive athletes. In fact, it was to the Eastern bloc what Dianabol is the U.S.
Known mostly only by “Easterners” and governmental governing bodies of sport in East Germany, and a few insiders in the Western world, OT was used extensively during the 60’s and 70’s within the Olympian community of athletes. (c) Steroids 101
A primarily anabolic effect makes this drug attractive to users. In fact, androgenic activity is so slight it doesn’t even register with many users. It continues to be manufactured by Jenapharm GmbH, as it always has, and is more accessible to athletes around the world since the wall between East Germany and West Germany finally came down; and with it, all of its many secrets. It’s a very powerful steroid in larger doses. (See “Effectiveness Rating” for the reason). But keep in mind that it’s another 17-alpha alkylated steroid and larger doses mean the potential for liver problems.
This is a good drug for both men and women because of the lower androgenic activity. For men, a dose of about 50 - 70 mg per day, along with a stack of other drugs (such as Winstrol and Parabolan), and some fat burners (such as Clenbuterol, Albuterol, Cytomel, or Ephedrine) produces great results. Even going a bit higher will only increase your chances of developing some retainable hard muscle. And “hard” and full muscles are the earmark of the drug. Women can use it too, as long as they take care. Don’t go over 20 mg per day or virilazation is possible. Even then, you may want to gradually build to that to avoid looking like Fred Flinstone anytime soon. Women definitely need to take fat burners with this drug and use Anavar and about 1-1.5 cc of Winstrol every other day.
Side effects always depend upon a person’s predisposition to problems. It’s the same reason some people are helplessly obese and others are rail thin. However, there are some things to watch for in men and in women with this drug, and it really greatly depends upon dose. If women take more than 20 mg per day, for instance, they tend to experience side effects such as deepening of the voice, facial hair growth and/or enlargement of the female genitalia (hey, some guys are into that though). Men, on the other hand, rarely experience typical androgenic side effects, such as gynecomastia, but they will experience aggression, some acne and a bit of gastrointestinal pain (Think: The toilet scene in “Dumb and Dumber”).
Price and Availability:
Despite earlier reports in Phillips’ book Anabolic Reference Guide, this drug is still available but in short supply. Let’s put it this way, it’s hard to get if you don’t live in Europe. The lots that do exist are now expiring, so if you can find some, you’d better hurry. That has to be in perspective prior to seeking this drug out. In a German pharmacy that still stocks this drug, you’ll pay about $12-$15 for 20 5 mg tablets of Oral-Turinabol. On the black market, you’ll likely pay between $2 and $2.50 per tab because of scarcity. But more likely, you’ll run into strength athletes that don’t want to sell the little bit they have.
Legal Alternative: OrlaTEST by CHEM33 is still availabe at a very high price. It is a direct precursor to Oral Turinabol
Here’s all I’ll say about it: If you run into someone who has an “abundance” of this drug, turn on your heels and run the other direction. He’ll probably try to lease you an office at 1 World Trade Center. (Sorry, but it was the best example of trickery I could come up with on short notice). You could, however, just happen into a small pharmacy in some rural German town and locate a few boxes—you never know.
This was a drug that was created for the express purpose of making “Super Athletes” in the Eastern bloc in the 60’s. And it achieved its goal. It was also a highly guarded secret in East Germany. Masking of this drug was regularly carried out by insiders, and positive test results rarely ever occurred at events like the Olympics or World Championships in as many as 20 different sports. If an athlete came up positive, it would typically be a woman because of the hormonal crap shoot that taking steroids and coming up clean presents in the female body. I use that term loosely, too, since most of the women from the Eastern bloc characteristically had a mannish appearance; so much so that they often were scrutinized harshly and had to be examined for gender type prior to competing in an event. What the Germans used to mask this drug is difficult to speculate. But some say that you can discontinue use after gradually diminishing the amount taken over 4 weeks, and come up negative within 7-10 days. If you’re going to try this, you might want to experiment with some real blood testing!
A little less effective than Dianabol in lower doses, but less side effects and less aromatization overall. Here’s the cool thing about OT though… Effectiveness of this drug is transient based on dose. You might say, “Well duh!” but that’s not the case for all steroids, which, if they are graded, are only relatively more effective based on amount. (In other words, if the effectiveness rating at 250 mg of a drug is an 8 out of 10, bumping it up will still produce relative results, and the effectiveness rating will still be an 8 out of 10, based on the amount you took). Most people think “more is better”, but it’s usually only relatively better. Oral-Turinabol, on the other hand, actually becomes much more effective the higher the single dose. In fact, in comparing it to D-bol, (in a milligram for milligram dose), it can actually surpass our all-American favorite by as much as 5 times in actual blood testosterone concentration. This is worth checking out, both for its similarities to D-bol and for its dissimilarities. I’d say that it’s a better bet for longer term use than D-bol, but you need to take more of it.
Here’s the thing about this drug…
It sounds like it would have been a great drug to try in the 90’s. I know of at least 4 guys who trained in Venice who swore by it in the late 80’s. However, it’s almost a moot point because it’s in short, short supply at this point. So, essentially, I whet your appetite for something that you’ll likely never get your hands on. Tough break, but I still had to talk about it!
